Professional Background

In a nutshell:

  • graduated from University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1997
  • completed pediatric residency training at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas in 2000
  • started in private practice at White Rock Pediatrics in 2001
  • joined Baylor Pediatric Center in 2004
  • after 11+ years at Baylor, resigned to find a better way to practice medicine and care for patients: started Dr. Stef On Call, PLLC

I am here to support parents and provide guidance throughout their parenting journey.  I believe in building a strong and personal doctor-patient relationship. I recognize that we all share the common goal of keeping our children safe, healthy and happy, but there may be different paths to achieving this - i.e, there is not one “right way” to raise a child.  Every child is different, every family is different. It is my goal to understand your values and to earn your - and your child’s - trust and confidence.

Personally

I grew up in a rural town in upstate New York.  After eight years in Virginia (UVA undergrad & med school), I moved to Dallas for my pediatric residency.  I met my husband while in residency and that, more than anything, is what kept me in Dallas after my training.  We moved into our home in Lakewood in 2001.  We love our neighborhood and our neighbors.  We love the community feel in Lakewood and East Dallas.  Our daughter attends our neighborhood school, Lakewood Elementary, and is thriving there.
